Cover Art Contest
CityTins brings people together. We support the Live Local message by championing local food, art, music, and culture. We are inviting local artists—whatever your preferred medium, professional or amateur—to submit an iconic image for a chance to be featured on the covers of CityTins 2024!
The submissions for consideration should speak to the communities, cities, or towns in which we live. Subjects might feature a skyline, historic building, storefront, or park. It could be an image from a photograph, oil painting, vector file, sketch, mural or sculpture. All is fair game. Our goal is to celebrate local artists and showcase their work on our covers.
We are looking for your best representation of the following places in Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Illinois:
- Fox Cities, WI (Appleton, Oshkosh, Neenah, Menasha, Kaukauna)
- Lake Country (from Brookfield to Oconomowoc, including Delafield, Waukesha, Pewaukee and Hartland)
- Madison, WI
- Milwaukee, WI
- Ozaukee County, WI (Cedarburg, Mequon-Thiensville, Grafton, Port Washington)
- Racine-Kenosha, WI
- Rockford, IL
- Twin Cities, MN (Minneapolis/St. Paul)
How to Enter
If you are a creator who interested in submitting your artwork for consideration to be featured on a 2024 CityTins Edition cover, please download, fill out and submit this submission form, along with hi-res images of your artwork (or files), and email to: social@citytins.com. Please indicate "CityTins Cover Contest Submission" in the subject line. If you have submissions for multiple locations, we welcome them! You do not have to reside in the area currently. For instance, if you're a photographer and have images from multiple locations we serve, you may submit for a chance to be on one or more covers.
Selection
The Cover Contest is an open call. We will consider professionals and amateurs: students, architects, fine artists, graphic designers, hobbyists, or whomever tells the story well.
The CityTins team will look at the image, how it represents the location, and how well it plays with our cover format. We will make a selection before May 15, 2023. All winners will be notified via email and announced on our social media platforms.
Winners must sign a release waiver for us to freely use their image/art on our covers, website, and promotional materials for the given market. Winners will receive five free tins with their cover upon product release and appear on CityTins' social media channels.
Winners will be entitled to a coaster inside the tin or on the back of the Dinner Spinner, to be determined by CityTins based on availability. (Details on Submission Form.) The content will speak to the artist's statement and include a website or any social handle you'd like our friends to support!
